There is a Richard b. to mother Ann 16/10/1703 and Elizabeth b. to Thomas 20/10/1700 Breage.
The use of an alias was common to differentiate one person from another, particularly if the given names were similar; it is likely that he sang in the church choir or had a reputation for singing. There is a marriage in Germoe in 1686 of a Thomas Ripper to a Jane Gillbert. To date this is the only available Thomas Ripper I have found who could fit. There is a problem though, regarding the availability of information following the Commonwealth.
