My gtgtgrfather was John Brown.He was the dominee or parish schoolmaster in Tweedsmuir for over 40 years from 1852 till his death.He had 4 sons by Janet Watson and she died in childbirth with my gtgrandfather in 1861. He later married Effie Shaw and had another son and a daughter.
