As told by Trix Saleeba:-
“Aneice hated his given name and never used it. He preferred to be called Jock. He studied medicine at Melb. Uni. and became a general practitioner. He went to Mansfield to relieve a Doctor there and had a lovely time. He brought back many photos of pretty women. Although he liked Mansfield he refused the offer of a partnership there. Whether it was fear of his father’s disappointment or a desire to return to familiar Essendon, Trix doesn’t know.
Eftiemus bought him a large house in Essendon, and converted part of it into a surgery. Jock started a new practice in Essendon and soon had a good base of patients. He married once he could afford to support a wife.
Jock volunteered for service in the Second World War. As a Captain/Doctor he was posted to Queensland. They paraded through Brisbane streets with broomsticks pretending they were guns as there was a shortage of weapons. He used to send home anaesthetised spiders etc which would be alive when they were opened in Essendon!
Jock became ill and finally returned to Melbourne to the Heidelberg Repat Hosp. When he recovered he trained soldiers in Melbourne. It was a lucky escape as his platoon was sent to New Guinea where most died of a tropical disease.
Jock always had a pocket full of chocolates and sometimes would come home with his pockets lined with melted chocolate.
He gave up his general practice due to poor health and joined the Railways to do medical examinations of staff.
He died of a ruptured aorta leading to kidney failure in 1969, aged 66.”
