Folklore - as related by Trix (Olive) Saleeba:-
“One of about 12 children. Trix thinks that those left behind were from the first marriage and /or female.
Eftiemus was the religious zealot in the family. the other brothers were far less serious about religion. They drank and were merry. This behaviour Eftiemus disapproved of loudly.
He forbade the playing of games. There was a terrible row one night when he came home early from church and discovered Alicia on the floor playing snakes and ladders with the children.
He hated his son’s nickname of Jock ans would cluck it out like a chook. This happened the first time Trix rang Aneice, and then he hung up.
Eftiemus moved to Mount Alexander rd., Moonee Ponds wher he had about 100 female machinists working for him, making women’s underwear. items such as camisoles and knickerbockers. later made ladies frocks. Wholesale only.”
