“Hilda had a very restricted childhood, as did all the children. As a girl she was not allowed out socially except for church. She would climb out the window at night to to dances, and married a much older man to escape.
She lost twin boys in a miscarriage and never got over the trauma. She had 2 girls but was institutionalised as a young woman at Mont Park. She stayed there until her death.”
