Marriage record shows that on 3rd December 1886 at Campbell's Close, Dalkeith, George Pryde, aged 25 years, Gardener, Bachelor, of Campbell's Close, Dalkeith, son of William Pryde, labourer, and Mary Grossart, deceased, married Marion Collier Hutchison, aged 20 years, Domestic Servant, Spinster, of Lugton, Dalkeith, daughter of James Hutchison, Labourer, deceased and Jane Philip, deceased. Witnesses were John Pryde and Margaret Pryde.

Memorial Inscription St. Nicholas Old Kirk, Dalkeith states:-

"...George died 27th May 1888 aged 27 years..."
